Line Language is inspired by a longing for meaningful (re)connections during these trying times of the new world within which we find ourselves. As a single line of black acrylic paint is led across the canvas, it morphs into various elements of daily life that we were ill-prepared to forgo in light of the unknown. From the land to the sea and stars, the future is as unpredictable as ever, but what’s for sure is that we can rely on our resilience to get us through.
Allison is a Toronto-born, Montreal-based student and teacher specializing in the fine arts. Her artistic practice is currently rooted in nostalgia, healing and cathartic self-expression with an emphasis on intersectional identities. Due to its accessible and amenable nature, acrylic paint is her preferred medium, though a passion for learning and growth has led her into more unfamiliar artistic avenues, such as relief printing and photography. Allison regularly finds inspiration in daily life and the beauty that thrives within.
