I have been passionate about art and the natural world throughout my life. I began to draw and paint from an early age, and I have pursued this path continuously. Being interested in the natural world, I constantly daydream about being a naturalist. However, meeting a fantastic teacher in my college and observing her teaching art to children shed some light on my way and opened a new direction in my life. I have become interested in teaching art to children and young adults. Eventually, I am now studying Art Education and Visual Arts at Concordia University in Montreal.
Initially, what compels me to practice art is the connection between art and the natural world: living and nonliving things, flora and fauna and the ephemeral world with its creatures and phenomena. Moreover, I find research and documentation intriguing and the process of reflecting, wondering, and responding through the language of art playful. My primary tools along the way are my senses and then a notebook/sketchbook and a pencil or coloured pencil. As an art practitioner, I wish to liven up fresh perception and the joy of perceiving the world from the heart. It is necessary to stop and be quiet to perceive the unknown and the unexpected nature.
